Throughout her periods of treatment Gemma would love to spend days on the coast visiting various beach huts around the south of England, she would find it relaxing and it would help to take her mind off of things a little bit. Therefore, it only felt right to provide a place for others in similar situations to enjoy a day at the seaside.
The Floating Florista Beach Hut is located in Walton-On-The-Naze, Essex. Set in a peaceful location with spectacular sea views the beach hut was purchased in order to provide respite days to cancer warriors who deserve a place to relax and enjoy the views.

Walton-On-The-Naze is a charming coastal town located in Essex. It is a popular destination due to its beautiful beaches and traditional seaside attractions. It is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. The town boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, making it an ideal spot for a day trip or a weekend getaway. Additionally, Walton pier, the 3rd longest in the UK, has just undergone extensive renovations and is now open with a new and upgraded amusement complex with tenpin bowling, funfair rides, arcade games, bars and cafes. With its picturesque setting, Walton-On-The-Naze is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a quintessential British beach hut experience.
There are plenty of food and drink options in the high street as well as several snack huts scattered amongst the beach huts.
The Floating Florista Beach Hut is situated on the top row of the beach huts providing a quiet, peaceful day away from the bustle of the front row passers by and high tide waves!
Food Recommendations
For breakfast, lunch or afternoon treats while enjoying the beach we highly recommend French Fancies Grazing for tasty grazing boards boxes or platters full of breakfast or lunch treats as well as afternoon tea with deliveries available to the hut.
Please note: French Fancies run as a delivery service only. They are not a restaurant and do not have a premises to visit.
For a more traditional seaside treat Yates Fish Bar is, in our opinion, the best in town and just a 10 minute walk from the hut or available on deliveroo.
For DIY options there is a Marks and Spencer and an Aldi within a few minutes drive from the huts.
Visit The Floating Florista Beach Hut
The beach hut is available for day-hire which helps support the foundation and keep everything running and maintained.
Day-hires are available between the last weekend in March and the last weekend in October.
For day-hire outside of these dates*, please give at least 7 days notice for arrangments to be made.
*During the winter season the taps and public toilet blocks, aside from the main toilet block located at the pier, are not operational.
